Disney shopping! What could go wrong?!

Today was a very relaxed day - I was planning to do laundry and sit at home, but I've decided that my goal for the summer will be to get out of the house every day and do something Disney. I don't want to feel like I've wasted days when I have to go home! So, this morning my plan was to head to Property Control and Cast Connections; the two company discount stores and have a look around!

But, both stores are right behind the Magic Kingdom. And there was no way I could get that close to the MK without going in!! So I got off the bus at the stop before the stores and walked to MK from the resort. It was very crowded for whatever reason, but after a few minutes of hot sun, I was through the gate and into an air conditioned store. I found myself in the candy store, both glad and sorely disappointed that I had eaten a good breakfast. I simply wandered my way through Main Street, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, getting three new fast passes for my stash - one of which was a 'surprise fast pass' that came out for Philhar Magic while I was claiming a different ride. Pretty sweet. I got ice cream, saw the evil step-mother and step-sisters walking down the street and spotted Peter Pan and Wendy by the Peter Pan ride. I wandered back and I looked into the big store in Storybook Circus, and came out as a brass band was playing! They were fantastic and comical and put on a great show :) I stayed and listened for a while, but decided I was good on MK for the day.

I know there is the tunnel system below MK, but I was only sure of two entrances to it, and only knew completely for sure where one of those was located. So I walked all the way back to Main Street, pulled out my ID attached to my belt and walked through like I knew what I was doing. I immediately failed at the 'I know what I'm doing' bit when I had to ask someone which door was the staircase down. Ah well. She was very sweet and even came down with me to point me in the right direction of the shuttle that would take me to Property Control and the cast bus stop. I caught a glimpse of a map of the underground along the way, and wouldn't you know it, the shuttle stop is under Fanatsyland. I had walked all the way back to Main Street and now was walking all the way back, but under, the park. But the shuttle was there when I arrived!

I walked from the shuttle stop acorss the cast parking lot to Property Control and Cast Connections. Property Control sells items that have been damaged or didn't turn out properly and can't be sold to guests, while Cast Connections sells brand new things that just aren't being carried in the stores anymore. PC is a much higher discounted rate than CC, but they are still both great deals. Turns out, you can bring family into CC, so I didn't get anything there today. But I found some great items at PC - some of which you can't even tell what's wrong with them! Some jewelry, a t-shirt for dad, a scarf for mom, and a sweater and a couple shirts for myself and I was set! I saved over 75% on what I bought, so I'm very pleased ;)

I waited for the bus home, and when I got here, the apartment was completely empty. So instead of going to the pool like I had planned (it looked like it was going to rain anyway!) I enjoyed the quiet and relaxed for a while. Emily came home first, and so she and I got chatting.

Then, Tanya called! She's been away all week and I hadn't realized how much I had missed her. We talked for almost two hours about everything there is to talk about. I ranted about work and she told me how lovely her week was, and I showed her the tacky Mickey Mouse BFF necklace I bought for her at PC, just because it was hilarious! :)

Since then, I've been blogging and watching tv episodes I've missed. Back to work tomorrow, so now I'm off to bed! I miss you all :) Night!
