... and I was not on my own. Sigh.
This morning I woke up and went to the grocery store first thing I definitely got my workout in; the weather was very warm and muggy and I think I sweated out every spare drop of water I had. I was able to facetime dad around noon and tell him all about my day yesterday :) And then I went to work! I was at a stand that needs two to run it - which is great. Except that I was working with Kirstie, who has also just finished training.
We had zero idea what we were doing. We ran a pretty tight ship for most of the day; Kirstie was running the register and I was doing all of the filling; popcorn, fountain drinks, and pretzels. I definitely know how to make popcorn now: the stuff gets very very popular with about 15 minutes left until the fireworks. We are also one of the only locations with cinnamon pretzels... and they smelled divine.
My favorite guest of the day (and my trip so far) was a gentleman who, when paying for his snacks, didn't know he had almost 30 left on his meal plan. And so offered to buy Kirstie and I a snack from our location!! He was very kind, and I told him he'd have to find me a job as well as a snack if I accepted his offer ;) But he was completely serious, and was wonderful to talk to!
We closed late tonight, because Epcot had it's extra magic hours this evening - but we closed up right on time at 10pm. And then, we had no idea what to do. We figured cleaning everything was a good place to start, but God bless the folks who helped us out. Our coordinator, for pointing out what we missed. Our stock guys, for not hating the disorganization we came back to base with.
All in all, a good day. It feels like it went by very fast and like I didn't make good use of my time... but that's how these late work nights will have to be I guess. Up early for work again tomorrow! Here we go!
