Rain makes the best days.

I've decided that rain, which would normally be a downer on a day, makes it even better here at Disney. First, the temperature decreases several degrees. Second, the streets empty out. Third, it's just water and I love rain.

Today, I left the house with Emily. She was headed to work, and I was headed... somewhere. We'd both slept in until noon and then headed to the bus stop. I was planning on going to Downtown Disney but, after looking at my bank account, decided that an area of only Disney stores was not a good option for me ;) It was raining pretty steadily when we left, so I chose Hollywood Studios. Most of its attractions are indoors, and there was a chance to meet up with some folks as well.

My bus was late, but it was worth it - when I got to HS, I bought a coke and sipped it as I meandered through some shops I hadn't been in yet. I found myself at the Beauty and the Beast theater just as the show was about to start!

I found a seat off to the side as the first actors were taking the stage and sat and enjoyed what was an excellent show. Making it even more than perfect was a flash of Disney Magic; a huge clap of thunder outside just as the scene switched from the village to Beast's castle. And the rain started to pour and the lightning started to flash just as the mob scene began. We got a few more big thunder cracks while Gaston is convincing the villagers to attack the castle. The sound of the rain and thunder made the scene so awesome, and so much more intense! The rain kept up all through the fight scene, with thunder cracks every one in a while. The rain sounds through the transformation were perfect!

The whole thing was so good that, once it was over, I went right form the exit back to the entrance for the next show. I got a seat front and center and sheltered from the rain outside, and settled in to wait for the next show. I got talking to my Tanya who wanted to see where I was! We facetimed for a few minutes until my internet gave out - it was so good to see her pretty face! :)

I watched and videotaped all of the next show, loving every minute! Times five ans six were just as good as 1 through 4! Once it was over, the rain had slightly let up, but was still raining enough that the streets were mostly clear! I listened in for a minute on the Monster's University Homecoming Party that was happening in front of the hat, and bought popcorn on Pixar Place and enjoyed the quiet and sound of the rain. I walked though the backlot tour museum and saw original set pieces from Titanic, Superman, Sound of Music, and others. Figuring it was about time to head home, I slowly made my way towards the entrance of the park, stopping where I felt like it and skipping over what I felt like. Being by yourself grants all sorts of freedoms! I never did meet up with the friends who were there.

I caught the bus home and was able to skype with my brother and dad for a bit :) since then I've been watching classic Disney movies! Another day off tomorrow!
