Today was an early morning; I was off to work by 7:30am. My first stop: Epcot costuming.
As per my mother's request, I signed out one of every costume I've worn as a Disney Cast Member. Mom, just for you I will be taking photos of them all tomorrow. Emily is quite excited to help me out with my photoshoot. You're lucky I love you!
The next 10 and a half hours consisted of getting to know Sandra, my coworker for the day, from Lithuania. Her first language is Lithuanian and she's never been to Russia, even though it's basically right next door. I also spent the day dodging bees, again. They were small numbers though, and I can dodge one or two while Sandra was fearless and would get whatever the bee was guarding. She was wonderful. I closed right on time and inventoried and banked out right on schedule. It was my last day in the red shirt, and also my last day working outside in the Floridian heat. And I'm sooooo glad! There are just some things that I will not miss even a little bit.
After work, I got changed and went right back into the park. I went to Italy for some souvenirs and chatted the cashier there for a few minutes. Then I found a fireworks spot in between Norway and Mexico for my last viewing of Illuminations! They were fabulous!!
I got on the bus just as it was pulling away, and my new Italian cashier friend was sitting right next to where I was standing. She and I chatted some more... and I realized why the weather is such a common small-talk topic. Because when you are both in an unfamiliar climate but your home weather patterns are similar, you bond over it. Easily!
I walked home and was able to facetime with Tanya for a while and then made myself some supper... fried eggs and fancy tea. Not too shabby at all, in fact it was the most delicious thing I've had in a while. Yummmmmm.
My eyes are now drooping to Doctor Who, and so this is where I will sign off!
